Runaway Bundesliga leaders FC Bayern München will have to wait another week at least before they can think about celebrating the title after FC Schalke 04 won 1-0 away to Hamburger SV to keep their outside hopes alive.
Kuranyi winner
The in-form Kevin Kuranyi, who scored four times in his previous outing against FC Energie Cottbus, got the only goal of the game when he headed in Albert Streit's cross after 90 seconds. The win lifted Schalke level on points with second-placed Werder Bremen, who were held to a 3-3 draw at Karslruher SC.
Bremen held
Bremen, who like Schalke trail Bayern by nine points, were indebted to Boubacar Sanogo's 86th-minute strike to earn a draw at the mid-table side. Bayern have five games to play and are at home to VfB Stuttgart on Sunday. They could have clinched their 21st title against the out-going champions if Werder had lost and Schalke had not won.
Cottbus win
FC Energie Cottbus eased their relegation fears with a 2-1 win against second-bottom FC Hansa Rostock, Dimitar Rangelov getting the winner in the final minute after Energie had played the entire second half with ten men following Igor Mitreski's 42nd-minute dismissal. DSC Arminia Bielefeld stay two points clear of the relegation zone after drawing 2-2 away to 1. FC Nürnberg, who are only one point off the foot of the table. Bottom side MSV Duisburg drew 1-1 at VfL Bochum 1848 while Hannover 96 and Hertha BSC Berlin drew 2-2. Eintracht Frankfurt drew 1-1 with BV Borussia Dortmund on Friday.
