'Dream come true'
The 23-year-old has signed a five-year contract with the Dutch side on the advice of Banfield coach and former Feyenoord player Pablo Sánchez about playing in the Netherlands. "He told me a lot about his experiences and the Dutch way of life," said the Baradero-born striker, who follows in the footsteps of attacking compatriots Iván Gabrich and Mauro Rosales by making the move to Amsterdam. "A month ago, I could not have imagined this; this is a dream come true." Cvitanich also holds a Croatian passport and struck 31 goals for Banfield after making his debut in October 2003, including seven in ten so far this season.
