PFC CSKA Sofia have won their 31st Bulgarian title after a 3-1 win at PFC Botev Plovdiv gave them an unassailable lead in the A PFG.

Anniversary celebrations
The victory leaves CSKA 13 points clear of second-placed PFC Levski Sofia with three games remaining, and means they will enter the 2008/09 UEFA Champions League at the second qualifying stage. The championship success also comes as the club prepare to celebrate their 60th anniversary next month. Brazilian striker Nei sent CSKA on their way in Plovdiv when he opened the scoring after 26 minutes, but Botev equalised five minutes later, Georgi Hristov converting from the penalty spot. Nei restored the away side's lead just before the interval with the second spot-kick of the game and Romanian international Florentin Petre then sealed the triumph late on with a fine solo effort.
