FC Bayern München have secured their 21st German title after a 0-0 draw at VfL Wolfsburg ensured that Werder Bremen can no longer catch them at the top of the Bundesliga table.

Final title
Bremen's 2-0 win against FC Energie Cottbus on Saturday delayed the Bavarian side's title celebrations by another day. Nevertheless, Ottmar Hitzfeld's team made up for the disappointment of losing to FC Zenit St. Petersburg in the UEFA Cup semi-finals in the week by gaining the point they needed to give their coach another title to take with him as he leaves the club in the summer to become the new coach of Switzerland.

Late jitters
It was not a thrilling performance by Bayern, and their champagne could easily have been on ice for another week had Grafite not blasted wide when through on goal in the final minute. The final whistle came soon afterwards, and with Bayern ten points clear of Bremen with only three games left, the team which has profited from the brilliance of Franck Ribéry and the goalscoring prowess of Luca Toni could relax.

Duisburg win
In Sunday's other Bundesliga game, MSV Duisburg won 3-2 against a Bayer 04 Leverkusen side whose fortunes have been mixed since they were knocked out of the UEFA Cup by Zenit. Manasseh Ishiaku scored twice in the first half for the home side, either side of a Lukasz Sinkiewicz effort for Leverkusen, and while Tranquillo Barnetta's second half effort drew Michael Skibbe's side level, a late Blagoy Georgiev goal won the day for the relegation strugglers.
