Juventus take punt on youthful Ekdal

Juventus have signed teenage midfielder Albin Ekdal from Swedish club IF Brommapojkarna for an undisclosed fee.

'Proud and delighted'
Ekdal, who will turn 19 in July, has been given a four-year contract by the Bianconeri. "I am both proud and delighted," he said. "This will be a great experience and I am really looking forward to it." With Juventus having finished third in Serie A, the newcomer can look forward to a UEFA Champions League campaign in Turin next season. So far, he has only 20 senior appearances to his name – 15 in Sweden's top flight, the Allsvenskan, last year followed by five in the second division in 2008.
