Goals from Pelé and Julio Cruz gave FC Internazionale Milano a 2-0 win at S.S. Lazio and a fourth consecutive Italian Cup final appearance after a goalless first meeting.
Cup pedigree
The Serie A leaders remain on course for a second league and cup double in three years, and a third cup success in four attempts, after Pelé scored against the run of play early in the second half by converting David Suazo's cutback. Substitute Cruz then added a late second following a Marco Ballotta error moments after Inter had Marco Materazzi dismissed.
Home chances
Lazio almost took the lead after just two minutes when Cristian Ledesma's free kick struck the post while Tommaso Rocchi and Goran Pandev also passed up decent chances for the hosts, who fielded their strongest lineup in comparison to an Inter side who played a number of squad players.
Familiar opposition
Inter will face either holders AS Roma or Calcio Catania in the final on 24 May. Last year's winners are 1-0 up from the first leg and will hope to book their place in the final when they travel for the away meeting on Thursday. Should they succeed, then Inter and Roma will contest the final for the fourth season in a row.
