The holders AS Roma will meet FC Internazionale Milano in the Coppa Italia final for the fourth season in succession after drawing 1-1 at Calcio Catania on Thursday to progress 2-1 on aggregate.
Aquilani opener
Midfielder Alberto Aquilani converted a penalty on 27 minutes to put Roma in full command of the semi-final second leg following their 1-0 win in last month's opener. Cristian Silvestri headed in a free-kick for the hosts two minutes later but that was as good as it got as Roma generally controlled the game. The final will be played in the capital on 24 May. "It will be a great satisfaction to play in front of our own crowd in another final. It confirms the hard work of these lads," said Roma coach Luciano Spalletti.
Drop zone
Both teams fielded slightly weakened sides with Sunday's penultimate round of Serie A matches in mind. Roma, who host Atalanta BC, are three points behind Inter and could still win the title if their rivals slip up. Walter Zenga's Catania are a point above the drop zone and will be striving to preserve their status by winning at Juventus at the weekend.
