France Under-21 striker Loïc Rémy has left champions Olympique Lyonnais to join OGC Nice in an €8m deal but as one promising youngster left the Stade de Gerland, another arrived with FC Metz attacking midfielder Miralem Pjanić joining for an undisclosed fee.
'High expectation'
Rémy, who spent the second half of this season on loan at RC Lens netting three goals in ten outings, has become the most expensive aquisition in Nice's history after completing a "an €8m, plus incentives, deal," according to Jean-Michel Aulas, the Lyon president. The youngster insisted he will not feel pressurised by the hefty fee, saying: "I don't care too much about the numbers. I just want to make the fans happy. I know that I have raised high expectation but I can live up the challenge."
Lofty ambitions
Lyon newcomer Pjanić, meanwhile, became the club's third signing of the summer. Alain Perrin's men have already secured the services of OGC Nice pair Hugo Lloris and Ederson for next term. Both Pjanić, and Aulas, were delighted with the outcome of the club's latest transfer activity. The 18-year-old midfielder beamed: "I'm really happy to be with a club who share my aims: to win everything." Pjanić has made 32 appearances for Metz this term, scoring three goals, but could not prevent them finishing bottom of Ligue 1 and being relegated, though he did enough to catch Lyon's eye. "He is a player with huge potential and a strong personality," insisted Aulas.
