England Under-21 midfielder Tom Huddlestone has signed a new five-year contract to stay with UEFA Cup contenders Tottenham Hotspur FC until the summer of 2013.

Cup success
The deal indicates that Huddlestone, who has scored four goals in 53 Premier League matches since joining Tottenham from Derby County FC in January 2005, has won the confidence of White Hart Lane manager Juande Ramos. The 21-year-old came on as a substitute as Spurs lifted the English League Cup last season with a 2-1 Wembley victory against Chelsea FC in February. The towering anchorman has also found the net three times in 26 appearances for the England U21s and was called up to the senior squad for the summer friendlies against United States and Trinidad & Tobago, without featuring in either game. The London club enter the UEFA Cup in the first round.
