Ukraine striker Yevgen Seleznov has returned to FC Shakhtar Donetsk and signed a five-year deal after an extended loan spell at FC Arsenal Kyiv.
'Tough competition'
The 22-year-old Shakhtar academy product spent the last one-and-a-half seasons at Arsenal where he averaged a goal every other game in his 36 appearances but has now signed a contract running until 2013 with the Ukrainian champions who enter the UEFA Champions League in the third qualifying round. "I understand there will be tough competition for me at Shakhtar," said Seleznov, who has been capped twice by Ukraine. "But I am confident, otherwise I would not have signed the deal."
