EB/Streymur have successfully defended the Faroese Cup by overcoming B36 Tórshavn 3-2 in the final.
Two cup wins
Arnbjørn Hansen and Hans Samuelsen put the Formuladeildin leaders 2-1 ahead at half-time and they went further in front 15 minutes from time when Hansen was on target again. Hungarian Karoly Potemkin reduced the B36 arrears moments later with his second, but EB/Streymur held on to secure only the second cup success in the club's history.
Goalkeeping error
Hansen seized on a mistake by the B36 goalkeeper on 12 minutes to open the scoring and they were celebrating again just six minutes later when Bárður Olsen's free-kick over the B36 defence found the unmarked Samuelsen, who made no mistake with his finish. Yet, ten minutes before the break, Potemkin gave B36 hope, but that was all but extinguished in the closing stages when Hansen again punished sloppy defending before Potemkin's late reply.
