NK Zrinjski coach Dragan Jović is sure the side from Mostar "have the quality" to achieve their goal of topping the Bosnia-Herzegovnian table over the winter, but the two big Sarajevo clubs are in a sorry state.
Second title
Zrinjski won their only national title in 2004/05, but their hopes of a second have been raised with a run of five league wins since their 3-0 loss at FK Sarajevo. "With every round we are playing better and better, and we want to keep top spot position until the end of the first part of the season," said Jović, whose side lead the Premijer Liga by three points, with a game in hand. "It won't be easy, but we have the quality to do it."
Miserable start
FK Slavija Sarajevo are second, after losing their first game of the season 2-1 at NK Posušje, but for the moment they are putting their bigger neighbours to shame. Three-time champions FK Željezničar are ninth in the 16-team table, two places above two-time champions Sarajevo, who responded to their disappointing start by changing coach, with Husnija Arapović taking over from Šener Bajramović. Both sides are also out of the Bosnia-Herzegovnian Cup.
Revolving door
Coaching changes have not been uncommon this season, with four other clubs already firing and hiring. FK Laktaši swapped Zoran Ćurguz for Slobodan Kustudić early on, Nedžad Selimović replaced Adnan Čorbo at NK Travnik, promoted FK Borac Banjaluka saw Vlado Jagodić replace Milomir Odović while FK Velež are on to their fourth coach, with Avdo Kalajdžić in charge following the departures of Emir Tufek, Ekrem Hasanbegović and Zijo Tojaga.
