Olympique de Marseille have lost the last unbeaten record in Ligue 1 after going down to a 4-2 home defeat by Paris Saint-Germain FC with Guillaume Hoarau scoring twice for the visitors in Le Classique.

Early lead
PSG's last league win in Marseille was nearly five years ago and they took an early lead at Stade Vélodrome when Hoarau rose to head in at the near post with nine minutes on the clock. However, OM hit back to equalise and then get their noses in front by the break. Mamadou Niang's stooping header after 20 minutes levelled matters and Mathieu Valbuena's side-footed finish gave the home side a 2-1 lead on the stroke of half-time.

Late goals
The visiting team hit back themselves seven minutes after the interval, though, Péguy Luyindula bursting away and lifting over goalkeeper Steve Mandanda. Jérôme Rothen gave PSG the lead with 13 minutes remaining before Luyindula broke away down the left and squared for Hoarau to claim his second and the three points for the capital club. The win lifts PSG up to sixth while OM remain second, two points behind Olympique Lyonnais.

St Etienne beaten
AS Saint-Etienne may have got their UEFA Cup Group G campaign off to a flying start on Thursday by winning 3-1 at FC København but they were unable to produce the same form in Ligue 1, losing 2-0 at home to Grenoble Foot 38. Les Vert were a goal down as early as the third minute when Yohan Benalouane's scored an own goal, and their second consecutive league defeat was confirmed in the final ten minutes when Franck Djadjedje struck for Grenoble, who climb to seventh. Another of France's UEFA Cup representatives, AS Nancy Lorraine, drew 1-1 at home to bottom club FC Sochaux-Montbéliard, who are still without a win after ten matches.
