The experienced Camacho, 53, has been given a contract until the end of the season and is charged with lifting the Pamplona outfit out of the lower reaches of the table. An iconic figure in Spain, Camacho led the country to the quarter-finals of both UEFA EURO 2000™ and the 2002 FIFA World Cup. The former Real Madrid CF player began coaching in 1992 with Rayo Vallecano and has since had spells at RCD Espanyol (twice), Sevilla FC, Madrid (twice) and also had two stints at the SL Benfica helm, the second ending in March this year. Having come within a point of relegation last term, winless Osasuna are struggling again this time around after picking up just four points and Camacho will hope to get off to a good start away to fellow strugglers Sporting Gijón on Sunday.
