EB/Streymur have been crowned Faroese champions for the first time with a game to spare after Arnbjørn Hansen scored a hat-trick to earn a 3-1 victory in a rescheduled match against already-relegated Skála Ítróttarfelag.
Worthwhile wait
Needing just a point to secure their maiden title, the club only founded in 1993 did not look back after Hansen put them ahead ten minutes after half-time. It was the striker's first goal in six games, and though the home side soon restored parity he quickly added another before completing his hat-trick, and EB/Streymur's title, with the final whistle approaching. The game was supposed to have been played on Sunday but was postponed due to bad weather – the wait was worth it for the visitors. For Skála the second division awaits, where they will be joined by B71 Sandur after a 1-0 loss to Víkingur sealed their fate.
