Péguy Luyindula opened the scoring for PSG against their fellow UEFA Cup contenders on 31 minutes and struck again shortly afterwards to set up a 13 January meeting with Ligue 2 RC Lens, who the capital club beat in last season's final. Le Havre needed an added-time Jean-Michel Lesage penalty to defeat Stade Rennais FC 2-1 after Moussa Sow had cancelled out El Fardou Nabouhane's opener. Le Havre play OGC Nice in the last eight, while FC Girondins de Bordeaux face LB Châteauroux and there is an all-Ligue 2 meeting between FC Metz and Vannes OC. The competition winners enter the UEFA Europa League.
