Norwegian side SK Brann have moved to appoint Steinar Nilsen as coach on the back of their disappointing 2008 campaign.
Fall from grace
The 36-year-old former AC Milan defender fills the gap left by Mons Ivar Mjelde, who resigned after the club finished the Tippeligaen season in a lowly eighth place. Nilsen, who has signed a contract until late 2011, joins the 2007 league champions after guiding Tromsø IL to a surprise third-place finish and then resigning, stating his desire to join a side which could better match his ambitions. "I've come to the club I wanted to coach," he said. "I felt really wanted here, and look forward to working with the many quality players at the club."
