Slump
Mihajlović has signed a contract until the end of the season, taking over from Arrigoni, 49, who led the club to promotion last term but had been unable to prevent Bologna sliding to within a point of bottom side Reggina Calcio. After their surprise win at AC Milan on the first day of the campaign, the Felsinei have lost eight of their following nine league games, with their only other victory coming against S.S. Lazio at the Dall'Ara Stadium.
First job
For the 39-year-old Mihajlović, the Bologna job is a first head coaching role. The former AS Roma, UC Sampdoria, S.S. Lazio and FC Internazionale Milano player had assisted coach Roberto Mancini at Inter last season. He will be at the helm on Saturday when Bologna host another struggling team, Roma.
