UEFA held a very positive and successful security meeting ahead of the UEFA Champions League tie between Olympique de Marseille and Club Atlético de Madrid at the Stade Vélodrome on Tuesday evening.

UEFA has held a very positive and successful security meeting ahead of the UEFA Champions League Group D game between Olympique de Marseille and Club Atlético de Madrid at the Stade Vélodrome on Tuesday.

Security measures
All requested parties, including representatives of both clubs, the UEFA security officers and both national police authorities, were present. Various security measures were discussed and agreed, including special travel arrangements and safety and security procedures in and around the stadium for the night of the match.

Allocation
Atlético have confirmed that they will not be taking up any of their five per cent allocation of tickets for the match and UEFA was informed that no independent travelling fans from Madrid were expected.

Disciplinary case
Security incidents at the first match between the two clubs in Madrid on 1 October resulted in a disciplinary case against Atlético, with a final CAS decision of one match to be played behind closed doors and a fine of €75,000, and the arrest of one Marseille fan who is still in police custody in Spain awaiting sentence.
