A last-gasp effort from Amauri gave Juventus a 2-1 win at US Lecce that brought the Serie A hopefuls back to within six points of leaders FC Internazionale Milano, while AC Milan also kept pace by overcoming Calcio Catania 1-0.

Del Piero injury
Juventus have now won seven of their last eight league outings – that run only blemished by a loss to the leaders – and they saw off the hosts despite losing Alessandro Del Piero to injury before travelling south. His absence meant a chance for Sebastian Giovinco and the 21-year-old responded with the opener from a free-kick after 56 minutes. Daniele Cacia darkened the mood for the visitors with an 84th-minute equaliser, but Brazilian striker Amauri had the last word, sending Claudio Ranieri's men into ecstasy with a header in the final minute.

Kaká winner
Milan also suffered late injury blows as Clarence Seedorf and Ronaldinho both pulled out of the squad to face Catania, but Kaká ensured their afternoon ended on a positive with the only strike of the game on 65 minutes, nodding in from a corner to keep the Rossoneri third on goal difference. Fourth-placed SSC Napoli won too, seeing off AC Siena 2-0, while one point further back ACF Fiorentina picked up a healthy 4-1 success at Torino FC, thanks in part to two Alberto Gilardino goals.

Comfortable victory
Atalanta BC had a comfortable victory to celebrate too as they beat Udinese Calcio 3-0 to move into the top six, while Cagliari Calcio defeated US Città di Palermo 1-0 and relegation-threatened duo Reggina Calcio and Bologna FC played out a 2-2 stalemate. The late game provided a feisty derby encounter between UC Sampdoria and Genoa CFC that the visitors won with a single effort from Diego Milito on 50 minutes. The goal was the striker's 12th in 14 league games this term and lifted Gian Piero Gasperini's side into the top six.
