FA Cup holders Portsmouth FC have completed the signing of left-back Nadir Belhadj after his successful spell on loan from RC Lens.

Adams 'delighted'
The 26-year-old Algerian international has signed a four-and-a-half year contract after Lens accepted Portsmouth's €4.4m bid for the former Olympique Lyonnais defender. Belhadj has scored twice in 16 Premier League appearances since arriving in England from Lens last summer. Portsmouth manager Tony Adams said: "I'm delighted to have secured Nadir as a permanent signing. He is an excellent acquisition for the club – he has great pace and energy, and is a terrific crosser of the ball too."
