While cold weather may have hampered preparations on the pitch ahead of the resumption of the Bosnia-Herzegovnian Premijer Liga on 28 February, off it clubs have been busy, with coaching changes continuing apace.

Janjoš returns
Mehmed Janjoš has been appointed coach of FK Sarajevo, the 52-year-old returning to the club he helped win the Yugoslav title as a player in 1985. Janjoš begins his second spell in charge having enjoyed success at the helm during the 1997/98 season when he led Sarajevo to victory in the Bosnia-Herzegovinian Cup and only narrowly missed out on the title. In 1999 he was appointed assistant coach to Faruk Hadžibegić for Bosnia-Herzegovina's UEFA EURO 2000™ qualifying campaign.

Past success
Janjoš, who coached NK Jedinstvo last season, replaces Husnija Arapović with Sarajevo fifth in the Premijer Liga. Though they trail NK Zrinjski by 12 points Janjoš has not given up on the title. "As a player I won the Yugoslav league with Sarajevo and I was only a step away from winning the Bosnia-Herzegovinian championship [with them] as coach," he said. "Zrinjski have a big advantage, but we won't give up fighting for top spot." Janjoš, though, will have to do so without Bosnia-Herzegovinian international striker Haris Handžić, who has signed for Polish league leaders KKS Lech Poznań, and Admir Raščić, who has joined Norwegian side Sandefjord Fotball.

Čurguz to Modriča
Other coaching changes see former 1. FC Kaiserslautern player Demir Hotić replace Simo Krunić at eighth-placed NK Željeznicar while champions FK Modriča have appointed Zoran Čurguz following the resignation of Mitar Lukić. Čurguz started the season at FK Laktaši before joining FK Sloga Doboj and will now be charged with turning round the club's fortunes after they won just four of their 15 games before the break.
