Maltese title hopefuls Birkirkara FC have added to the capture of former S.S. Lazio defender Mauro Di Lello by signing their third Bulgarian of the January transfer window.

New arrivals
The FA Trophy holders recruited centre-back Ivailo Sokolov, 24, on loan from Bulgarian club PFC Vihren Sandanski and 23-year-old PFC Chavdar Etropole striker Krasen Vulkov earlier this month in a bid to enhance their Premier League title prospects. Earlier this week, Birkirkara announced the arrival of Di Lello and have followed this up by bringing in striker Kiril Mihaylov.

'Immediate replacement'
"The abrupt departure of Bulgarian Emil Yantchev immediately prompted our club to engage in an immediate replacement," said John Borg, the Birkirkara vice-president and international secretary. "In these last days of the transfer window, our club [has] again looked to Bulgaria to strengthen our squad further by signing 23-year-old former Olympiacos Nicosia striker Kiril Mihaylov."
