Article body
UEFA has ordered Feyenoord to play their next UEFA competition home match behind partially closed doors and has also fined the Dutch club for incidents relating to the UEFA Cup tie against KKS Lech Poznań on 17 December last year.
Partially closed doors
The UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body established that crowd disturbances involving local supporters occurred in several sectors of the Stadiontribune and in one sector of the Olympiatribune at the De Kuip Stadium in Rotterdam. It also established that pyrotechnical devices were ignited and thrown and that there was a lack of organisation around the Group H match, which Feyenoord lost 1-0. As a result, Feyenoord will play their next European home game in front of a partially closed stadium, with all sectors of the Stadiontribune being closed along with one sector of the Olympiatribune. The Eredivisie side must also pay a €50,000 fine.
Measures needed
In view of the incidents, the Control and Disciplinary Body is instructing Feyenoord to take stringent measures to eradicate hardcore supporters from its stadiums. The decision is open to appeal within three days of the despatch of the decision.
