Sweden and Germany set up a Monday showdown for a place in the Algarve Cup final against the United States after respectively defeating UEFA WOMEN'S EURO 2009™ hosts Finland and China while in the other group, Denmark beat Norway 2-0 and Iceland lost to the American holders with a last-gasp goal. uefa.com rounds up the action from the second set of games.

Group A
Sweden 1-0 Finland
Nilla Fischer's 75th-minute goal was the difference between these two closely matched neighbours, as Finland aimed to bounce back from losing 2-0 to Germany on Wednesday and Sweden looked to improve on their 0-0 draw with China. Both teams had chances from the start, Laura Österberg-Kalmari missing from close range and her Finland team-mate Annica Sjölund also nearly breaking the deadlock, while at the other end, Sara Linden tested the Finnish rearguard. Jessica Julin had the ball in the net for Finland five minutes into the second half but the goal was ruled out for a foul on Sweden goalkeeper Kristin Hammarström in a crowded box, and Fischer was to ensure the game went Sweden's way by heading in a corner.

*Österberg-Kalmari will miss the rest of the tournament after being ruled out for three weeks with a broken collarbone suffered in the first half against Sweden. "Sadly the cup is over for me after just one full game," she said. "I was out for three weeks a while ago because of a calf injury and now it will be another three weeks. On the positive side, it could have been more serious."

Germany 3-0 China
Germany will face Sweden on Monday needing only a draw to reach the final after a comfortable defeat of China, who had held the world and European champions 1-1 in Bielefeld last week. Silvia Neid's side were on top from the start, and both Kerstin Garefrekes and Kim Kulig threatened early on. On 37 minutes Garefrekes, who had marked her 100th cap with a goal against Finland on Wednesday, headed Germany into the lead after a corner was flicked on by Inka Grings. Just before the hour mark Kulig, whose debut came in last week's China game, opened her international account with an angled shot from distance before setting up Garefrekes to claim her 36th goal for Germany in the 67th minute. China, who play Finland on Monday, lost Yuan Fan to a red card eight minutes later.

Group B
United States 1-0 Iceland
Having beaten Norway 3-1 on Wednesday, Iceland seemed to be heading for another memorable result against the Olympic champions. However, a last-minute Natasha Kai volley found a way past Iceland's 4-5-1 formation and took the US into their seventh straight Algarve Cup final next Wednesday. The US have won five of the previous six finals, the exception being a penalty shoot-out loss to Germany in 2006.

Norway 0-2 Denmark
Denmark, overcome 2-0 by the US in their opener, bounced back with a win by the same scoreline to continue Norway's unhappy UEFA WOMEN'S EURO 2009™ build-up. Johanna Rasmussen broke the deadlock in the tenth minute and Katrine Pedersen struck late on to ensure Norway's third defeat in as many games this year. Denmark can pip Iceland to second position, and a berth in the third-place play-off, with victory when they meet on Monday. Norway will hope to end the group on a high against the US, who they defeated in the opening game of the 2008 Olympics. Norway cannot climb off fourth place and the US will not be caught at the top due to their head-to-head records against Denmark and Iceland.
