Inter challenge
Sir Alex Ferguson's United side, who host FC Internazionale Milano on Wednesday locked at 0-0 in their UEFA Champions League first knockout round tie, were in control at Craven Cottage after Tévez struck before the interval with a far-post header and 25-metre drive. Wayne Rooney and Ji-Sung Park rounded off the scoring with clinical curling efforts to keep the Old Trafford outfit on course for six trophies this season.
Drogba opener
Chelsea continued their revival under Dutch coach Guus Hiddink with a comfortable win at second-tier Coventry. Didier Drogba fired them into an early lead and Alex finished off a slick counterattack in the second half to ensure the London club reached the semi-finals of the competition for the third time in four seasons. Last season's UEFA Champions League finalists, beaten by United in the Moscow showpiece, travel to Juventus in their first knockout round decider with a 1-0 advantage.
Late drama
There was a solitary match in the Premier League on Saturday and it enabled Sunderland AFC and Tottenham Hotspur FC to edge further away from danger with a 1-1 draw. Spurs' Robbie Keane scored his second goal in four days in the 89th minute to cancel out Kieran Richardson's third-minute opener. The pair are now five points clear of Blackburn Rovers FC, who occupy the final relegation berth, but have played a game more.
