FC Lokomotiv Moskva have moved to increase their forward options on the eve of the new Premier-Liga season in Russia by signing the Superligaen's leading goalscorer, Odense BK striker Baye Djiby Fall.
'Big step up'
The 23-year-old Senegalese marksman has signed a three-year deal with the Moscow club after scoring eleven goals in 18 appearances for Odense this term. "I was very happy in Denmark," Fall said, "but there are some offers you just cannot avoid. I think I'm making a big step up and, hopefully, will adapt very fast to a new team." Fall came through the AJ Auxerre youth system but started his career in the lower tiers of French football with AS Vitré. He moved to Randers FC in 2006 and on to Odense at the beginning of last year after a brief spell with Al Ain FC in the United Arab Emirates. He becomes the latest in a long list of close-season additions at Lokomotiv as the Railway Men, who welcome FC Khimki in their season opener on Saturday, look to improve on successive seventh-place finishes in the league.
