Article body
Recent high-level discussions on the protection of minors and financial fair play in UEFA competitions are on the agenda for the latest meeting of the UEFA Executive Committee at the Marriott Hotel in Copenhagen, Denmark, on Monday and Tuesday.
Nyon feedback
The committee, chaired by UEFA President Michel Platini, will hear feedback from last week's meeting of the Professional Football Strategy Council in Nyon, which included talks on these two topics. The Professional Football Strategy Council is composed of elected representatives of the associations, clubs, leagues and players, and advises the UEFA Executive Committee on issues of strategic importance for European football. FIFA also participates as observer.
Young players' protection
All four groups present at the Nyon meeting (associations, clubs, leagues and players) agreed on the principle that there should be no international transfers of minors – players aged under 18 – either into Europe or within Europe. A resolution for the protection of young players and encouragement of youth development was ratified by all four representatives' groups. Clickhere for the resolution.
Grassroots workshop report
A report will be given on the 8th UEFA Grassroots Workshop, which is taking place in Hamburg this week (clickherefor more details).
