Olympiacos CFP midfielder Predrag Djordjević has announced he will hang up his boots at the end of the season, with the 36-year-old fresh from winning his 12th Greek league title with the club.
Olympiacos success
The former Yugoslavia and Serbia and Montenegro international told the club's official website: "This decision was particularly difficult, as football, at the top level or otherwise, has given me some very strong and special moments." The former FK Radnicki Kragujevac player represented FK Crvena Zvezda and Greek lower league side Paniliakos FC before joining Olympiacos in the summer of 1996. He claimed the 12th Greek title of his career this season and will look to sign off with a fifth Greek Cup success, with Olympiacos already having made it to the semi-finals. Djordjević has scored 127 goals in 341 league games for the Piraeus side. His retirement will coincide with that of his Olympiacos team-mate and fellow countryman Darko Kovačević, who decided to quit after undergoing heart surgery in January.
