Emerson has left AC Milan after the Serie A club granted his request for his contract to be cancelled.
'Personal reasons'
The 33-year-old Brazilian has struggled to win a regular place in the Rossoneri midfield this season, making just three league starts and appearing a further nine times as a substitute. A statement on Milan's website said the player "asked and obtained an immediate resolution of his contract with the club due to personal reasons". Emerson joined Milan in 2007 from Real Madrid CF having previously played in Italy for Juventus and AS Roma. His last appearance for the club was as a second-half substitute in the 2-1 defeat by UC Sampdoria on 1 March.
