A goal from Denmark midfielder William Kvist after 31 minutes proved sufficient to decide the Danish Cup final in favour of FC København, who defeated Aalborg BK 1-0 in front of 29,249 spectators at the Parken Stadium in Copenhagen.
Shelton opportunity
In an even first half AaB created the first opportunity after 26 minutes when Luton Shelton benefited from a mistake in the FCK defence but defender Zdeněk Pospěch managed to pressure the Jamaican striker into firing over with an empty net at his mercy. København forward Dame Ndoye headed against the post but Aalborg failed to heed the warning and two minutes later Kvist latched on to a cross from Pospěch on the right to score from 12 metres.
Double chance
The second half featured fewer opportunities after Ndoye had gone close on 48 minutes. Anders Due was close to forcing the equaliser directly from a corner after 62 minutes but from then on FCK were in control with some late AaB pressure only resulting in a couple of decent attempts from attacking midfielder Caca. København will now set their sights on completing the domestic double as they sit two points ahead of second-placed Brøndby IF with two matches left in the Superligaen season.
