Sevojno fail to rain on Partizan parade

FK Partizan have claimed their eleventh Serbian Cup after three second-half goals ended the resistance of second-division FK Sevojno, with the 3-0 victory ensuring the Belgrade club have completed the domestic double for the second consecutive year.

First-half frustration
A crowd of 15,000 witnessed Partizan captain Nenad Djordjević breaking the deadlock in the 61st minute before late efforts from right-back Ivan Stevanović and midfielder Radosav Petrović confirmed the success. Partizan took the initiative early on but struggled to find the creativity needed to unlock the stubborn Sevojno defence, Washington and Nemanja Tomić coming closest with shots from distance.

Maiden final
Djordjević and Lamine Diarra spurned chances after the interval but relief finally arrived when the Partizan captain precisely found the right corner of Milorad Nikolić's net from a free-kick. Sevojno, competing in their first cup final in their 59-year history, were more adventurous thereafter only for Stevanović (86) and an added-time third from the head of Petrović to end their challenge.
