OGC Nice have announced that Didier Ollé-Nicolle will serve as coach from next season, lining the 47-year-old up to take over from current incumbent Frédéric Antonetti on a two-year deal.

'Great promotion'
Coming to the end of his three-season reign at Ligue 2 outfit Clermont Foot Auvergne, Ollé-Nicolle has never coached in the top flight before, though he made headlines by leading third-tier Nîmes Olympique SC to the French Cup semi-finals in 2004/05. "It's a great promotion," he explained. "When you get chosen and there's a fair amount of competition and you didn't even put yourself forward, that's the only way you can look at it."

Expectations matched
Club president Maurice Cohen added: "His approach to the job seemed to match our expectations for the post. The only risk is his lack of experience at this level." With one match remaining this term, Nice are assured of a ninth-place finish in Ligue 1.
