Playing career
Paciência, better known by his first name during his playing career as a striker, will be officially unveiled on Tuesday. He led Académica to a seventh-placed Liga finish last season and Braga have paid an undisclosed fee to the Coimbra-based club to secure his services. The 40-year-old coach won seven league titles and five Portuguese Cups as a player at FC Porto, and scored nine goals in 34 international appearances. His new side start their UEFA Europa League campaign in the third qualifying round.
