UEFA President attends Estonian celebrations

UEFA President Michel Platini has visited Estonia to take part in the celebrations marking 100 years of football in the Baltic state – the first recorded football match in the country took place in June 1909.

UEFA President Michel Platini has visited Estonia to take part in the celebrations to mark 100 years of football in the Baltic state. The first-ever recorded football match in Estonia took place in June 1909.

Tallinn conference
During his visit, the UEFA President also attended a conference on Football Values together with the FIFA President Joseph S Blatter and the President of the Estonian Football Association, Aivar Pohlak. UEFA Executive Committee member and Lithuanian Football Federation President Liutauras Varanavičius was a speaker at the event, which took place in Opetajate Maja, a historic building in the centre of the Estonian capital Tallinn.
