The delegates' assembly elected Peter Gilliéron as the new president of the Swiss Football Association (SFV-ASF) in Berne on Saturday. Gilléron, who is 56, succeeds Ralph Zloczower, who has stepped down at the age of 76 after eight and a half years at the helm.

"I am really excited about the trust that has been expressed in me, and I am sure that all sections will support me. I will do everything I can to be a good president for every section, as well as for the whole of Swiss football," said Gilliéron, who has served as general secretary since 1993. Zloczower was named by the SFV-ASF delegates as the association's second honorary president.
