A delegation led by UEFA President Michel Platini visited the UEFA EURO 2012™ host cities and stadiums of Gdansk, Poznan and Wroclaw on 26/27 July and met with representatives of the Polish Football Association, government, cities and stadiums.

UEFA support
Michel Platini was satisfied with the current level of preparations in Poland and assured the Polish organisers that UEFA will continue to support them in the realisation of this major sporting project.

End of November
The UEFA President also took the opportunity at a press briefing to remind the media of the situation in Ukraine, with Kiev the only city currently in a position to host matches – not including the final – and that the other candidate cities have until the end of November to provide all the necessary guarantees concerning the development of the infrastructure needed to host matches at the tournament, as decided by the UEFA Executive Committee last May.

December decision
The UEFA Executive Committee will take a final decision on the host cities for the 2012 UEFA European Championship on the occasion of its 10/11 December meeting in Madeira, Portugal.
