Shakhtar await Raţ prognosis

FC Shakhtar Donetsk are waiting to learn the extent of Răzvan Raţ's knee injury after the Romanian international defender tore ligaments in training. The 28-year-old will certainly miss the opening weeks of the Ukrainian season and, more than likely, the UEFA Cup holders' opening UEFA Champions League third qualifying round tie in late July and early August. "I don't know how long I'll be out for but it's too early to talk about training," Raţ said.
