Nine referees, 12 assistants and three fourth officials have been appointed for the UEFA WOMEN'S EURO 2009™ finals from 23 August until 10 September in Finland.
Experience
Alexandra Ihringova took charge of the 2005 final between Germany and Norway in her adopted nation of England while Dagmar Damková and Gyöngyi Gaál were also involved in the last edition. Damková, Gaál and Sweden's Jenny Palmqvist refereed at the 2007 FIFA Women's World Cup in China, as did assistants María Luisa Villa Gutiérrez, Hege Steinlund and Corinne Lagrange, who will be officiating in her third European finals after being involved in 1997 and 2001.
Previous finals
Damková also refereed the 2001 UEFA European Women's Under-18 Championship final and Ihringova handled the reclassified U19 decider a year later. Kirsi Heikkinen took charge of the 2007 U19 final and Cristina Dorcioman did so a year later. Damková, Gaál, Ihringova and Palmqvist have all refereed a UEFA Women's Cup final.
