Inka Grings remains on course to finish top scorer for the second UEFA European Women's Championship finals in succession as she holds a one-goal lead over Fatmire Bajramaj and Eniola Aluko for the adidas Golden Boot award in Finland.
Grings ahead
Germany striker Grings began the semi-finals on four goals, one ahead of Aluko, who drew a blank in England's 2-1 extra-time defeat of the Netherlands on Sunday. Grings led the line against Norway on Monday and although she came close to becoming the first player to score five in a UEFA European Women's Championship final tournament, she remains ahead of Aluko as the pair prepare to face off in Thursday's Helsinki decider.
Bajramaj strike
However, in added time of Germany's 3-1 win, Bajramaj joined Aluko on three goals, all of her strikes coming as a substitute against Norway after her Matchday 1 double. Bajramaj said: "I know that I am kind of a joker these days, but I am very ambitious and will work hard to make it to the starting eleven."
Bubbling under
Equal with Aluko and Bajramaj in second place is Victoria Sandell Svensson, the outgoing Sweden captain, while there are nine players on two goals. Of those, involved in Thursday's final could be England's Kelly Smith and Fara Williams, and Germany's Linda Bresonik and Simone Laudehr, who like Bajramaj, came off the bench to score in the semi-final against Norway.
