UC Sampdoria refuse to concede ground at the top of Serie A after beating AC Siena 4-1 to maintain their perfect start, on a day when both the Milan giants also triumphed.

Padalino double
Juventus made it four wins out of four on Saturday but Sampdoria overhauled them on goals scored with a comfortable victory over a Siena side boasting just three points this term, Angelo Palombo racing past two defenders and firing in from outside the area to open the scoring with 23 minutes gone. Daniele Mannini then chipped in from close range eight minutes later, before Marco Padalino registered two minutes after coming on at the start of the second half. The same player then rounded off his team's day by tapping in a rebound five minutes from time, after Michele Fini had pulled one back for the visitors on 68 minutes.

Milito impact
Champions FC Internazionale Milano are third courtesy of a 2-1 victory at Cagliari Calcio. Summer signing Diego Milito fired both Inter's goals in the space of four minutes, finishing emphatically for his first after 51 minutes before lobbing in his second to complete a comeback win, Cagliari's Jeda having buried a penalty in the 16th minute. AC Milan also collected three points, Clarence Seedorf scoring with 15 minutes left to down visitors Bologna FC 1-0 and give the Rossoneri their second Serie A success this season.

Catania relief
Elsewhere, AS Roma recorded their second consecutive win since Claudio Ranieri took over as coach, Francesco Totti scoring twice, once from the penalty spot, and Daniele De Rossi also on target as ACF Fiorentina were defeated 3-1. Genoa CFC bade farewell to their 100 per cent record as they lost 3-1 at AC Chievo Verona and Parma FC saw off US Città di Palermo 1-0. In the lower reaches, Calcio Catania picked up their first point by drawing 1-1 at home with S.S. Lazio, while Atalanta BC suffered a fourth consecutive defeat, 4-1 at AS Bari.
