UEFA President Michel Platini has expressed sadness at the death of a supporter of Toulouse FC in the wake of incidents before the UEFA Europa League Group J match between FK Partizan and the French club in Belgrade on 17 September. Brice Taton passed away on Tuesday.
Sad day
"Today is a sad day not only for Toulouse FC and French football but also for European football as a whole," said the UEFA President. "The loss of a fan's life, whose only crime was to travel to an away match to follow his team, is tragic, and we must continue our fight throughout Europe against individuals who use football to carry out acts of random violence. We trust that the Serbian authorities will continue their investigations right to the end and punish the perpetrators of this terrible crime.
Condolences
"I offer my personal condolences and those of the entire European football family to the family of Brice Taton at this terrible time," Mr Platini added.
