Wesley Sneijder's last-gasp winner took FC Internazionale Milano to the top of Serie A, at least overnight, with a 2-1 defeat of Udinese Calcio on Saturday.

Lead short-lived
At the start of the weekend Inter were two points behind UC Sampdoria, who beat the reigning champions on 26 September and welcome Parma FC among Sunday's fixtures. Inter led visitors Udinese on 22 minutes when Dejan Stanković was set up by Samuel Eto'o but Diego Milito then limped off and in-form Antonio Di Natale swiftly levelled after good work by Gökhan Inler.

Sneijder heroics
That seemed to be that, but deep in added time Sneijder curled the ball into the net to ensure Inter moved a point clear of Sampdoria, with unbeaten Juventus one further back ahead of their Sunday trip to US Città di Palermo. Udinese remain in fifth while Calcio Catania were unable to escape the relegation zone after a 0-0 draw at AS Bari.
