The highly successful UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour, presented by UniCredit, is continuing through several European countries with Romania the latest location where football fans can get close to European club football's most glittering prize.

Capturing public attention
The trophy's arrival in the capital Bucharest will bring back memories for Romania's football fans. FC Steaua Bucureşti won the European Champion Clubs' Cup in 1986, and a hero of that triumph, Helmuth Duckadam, is ambassador for the Romanian leg. The trophy – coveted by many of the world's greatest clubs and players – has already arrived in the country and captured public attention. Arad was the first destination and is being followed by stops in Timişoara, Sibiu, Braşov, Piteşti and Bucharest. The Romanian capital's Piata Constitutiei will host three days of tour activities between Friday and Sunday.

Photos and autographs
The tour has already taken in Milan and Zagreb, where thousands of enthusiasts took the opportunity to have their photo taken with the trophy and collect autographs from, and have their picture taken with superstars such as Luís Figo, Franco Baresi and Daniele Massaro in Milan, and Croatia coach Slaven Bilić in Zagreb.

Duckadam ambassador
The ambassador for the Romanian leg of the tour is a national footballing legend. Duckadam made history when he saved four successive spot-kicks in the penalty shoot-out to help Romanian club Steaua win the 1986 European Cup final against FC Barcelona in Seville, Spain. Duckadam is delighted to have the chance to again be near the trophy won thanks to his heroics, and will take part in an autograph session in the Trophy Tour tent in Piata Constitutiei at 10.00 local time on Saturday 3 October.

Press conference
A press conference will take place at the Piata Constitutiei venue on Friday 2 October at 12.00 local time, and Duckadam will be present. Public open days will follow on Saturday (10.00-17.00 local time) and Sunday (10.00-19.00 local time).

Memorable football experience
The Trophy Tour – visiting this continent for the first time – aims to give fans a truly memorable football experience. A Trophy Tour village is set up in each venue featuring displays of unique memorabilia, pictures and films, all of which convey the rich tradition of the UEFA Champions League and European Champion Clubs' Cup. A truck will transport the UEFA Champions League trophy from country to country in a transparent state, stopping over in the centre of each of the venues.
