Shevchenko pipped
In the poll of players, coaches and media organised by Komanda newspaper, the 24-year-old received 184 points, 33 ahead of club-mate and Ukraine captain Andriy Shevchenko. Ukraine goalkeeper Andriy Pyatov was third and his fellow UEFA Cup winner with FC Shakhtar Donetsk, Darijo Srna, came fourth in front of FC Metalist Kharkiv forward Jajá.
Recognition
Milevskiy, currently the Ukrainian Premier League's top scorer on ten goals having helped Ukraine claim the 2008/09 title, told Komanda: "It's very nice to receive recognition from colleagues who understand football like no one else. This year was a bit of a mixed one for me and my teams. We failed to qualify for the FIFA World Cup finals and UEFA Champions League knockouts. On the other hand Dynamo reached the UEFA Cup semi-finals, won the domestic gold and the Ukraine Super Cup."
