LOSC Lille Métropole and Montpellier Hérault SC did their utmost to heap pressure on Ligue 1 leaders FC Girondins de Bordeaux by recording victories against Paris Saint-Germain FC and OGC Nice respectively.

Chasing duo
Bordeaux, who still have a six-point lead at the summit, play host to Olympique de Marseille on Sunday evening. Their nearest challengers ahead of that fixture are Lille after they overcame PSG 3-1 to record their seventh successive league victory. Ludovic Obraniak (5), Florent Balmont (52) and Franck Beria (68) did the damage for the UEFA Europa League contenders, who have scored at least three goals in each game of their impressive run. Rudi Garcia's team are just a point clear of third-placed Montpellier, however, following their 1-0 win at home to Nice, Souleymane Camara's 58th-minute goal proving decisive.

Monterrubio double
AJ Auxerre remain in the mix a further three points adrift despite being held 0-0 at home by US Boulogne, while FC Lorient are just one point off the top four following a comprehensive 3-0 win at Le Mans UC 72. Laurent Koscielny (22) and Olivier Monterrubio (43, 53) were on target in northern France, moving Christian Gourcuff's charges above Marseille on goals scored.

Prolific Nenê
Nenê's 11th and 12th league goals of the campaign earned fifth-placed AS Monaco FC a 1-0 win against FC Sochaux-Montbéliard, while UEFA Champions League hopefuls Olympique Lyonnais are seventh after they beat AS Nancy-Lorraine 2-0 courtesy of strikes from Cris and Maxime Gonalons. Grenoble Foot 38 remain bottom after a 2-1 defeat by AS Saint-Etienne, while Toulouse FC triumphed 3-1 at Valenciennes FC and Stade Rennais FC drew 1-1 with RC Lens.
