AS Livorno Calcio's Serie A status is hanging by a thread after they lost 2-0 at AC Chievo Verona, a result which leaves the Tuscan club nine points from safety with four games remaining.
Gennaro Ruotolo's team, bottom of the table and without a league win since 10 January, fell behind after 28 minutes when Michele Marcolini teed up Sergio Pellissier, who powerfully beat Alfonso De Lucia at his near post.
Second-half substitute Elvis Abbruscato confirmed victory two minutes from time, seizing on Dario Knežević's error and dispatching a left-footed shot past De Lucia from close range. The win lifts Chievo into 12th.
