Armenian champions FC Pyunik beat FC Banants 4-0 at the Yerevan Republican Stadium on Monday to clinch the Armenian Cup for a second year in succession and the domestic double, while consigning Banants to a third straight final defeat.

In a repeat of last season's cup final which Pyunik won 1-0, the outcome was all but decided in the first half when Pyunik raced to a 3-0 lead. A crowd of nearly 7,000 saw Davit Manoyan volley home the opener on 15 minutes before further goals Markos Pizzelli (25) and Gevorg Ghazaryan, with a header on the stroke of half-time, put the game out of Banants' reach.

Ghazaryan added his second and Pyunik's fourth after the break to complete a resounding victory to the delight of Pyunik coach Vardan Minasyan. "We played as well as we had hoped to in the first half," Minasyan said. "After the break we showed discipline and that ensured victory. Despite the scoreline it was a tough game." Banants coach Stevica Kuzmanoski added: "We defended really badly. Pyunik were given total freedom and they punished us."
