Tottenham Hotspur FC have tied down captain Ledley King on a new contract until June 2012.
King, who has been named in England's 30-man provisional FIFA World Cup squad, has made 20 league appearances this season in helping Spurs to a fourth-placed finish in the Premier League. They will now line up in next term's UEFA Champions League play-offs.
"I am delighted to have signed a new contract with Spurs," said the central defender. "I have been here since I was a schoolboy and I could never see myself going anywhere else. This is where I want to continue playing my football. We've got the prospect of Champions League football to look forward to next season and with the quality of players we have I believe we are on the brink of something big."
