AS Jeunesse Esch have ended F91 Dudelange's five-year monopoly on the Luxembourger title, securing the championship for the 28th time courtesy of a 4-0 last-day win against US Rumelange.
The result gave Jeunesse Esch a three-point advantage over Dudelange, who rounded off their campaign with a 3-3 home draw against CS Fola Esch. Jeunesse Esch goalkeeper Marc Oberweis said: "Winning this title is not down to one or two players, but to the whole team. Over the season we have given great performances, and I really mean 'we', as the whole team, the squad, the officials and the staff, as well as the spectators, deserve this. We may not have the wealth of individual talent of Dudelange, but we are much more of a team than F91."
